Do gummies have to be just for kids? I think not!

Can I tell you a secret?? I have never really loved gummies. Not gummy bears. Not gummy worms. Not gummy candies. But, several years back when I was beginning to heal by tummy I started making gummier with grass fed gelatin and fruit juice....who knew gummies could be so delicious??? Then, we began making organic elderberry syrup and it just seemed like the perfect fit, gummies and elderberry. A win win combination of delicious, healing the gut and boosting the immune system. Perfect for kids and kids at heart. Here is the recipe that we use:

Organic Elderberry gummy recipe. In this recipe, you can use all Simply Thriving Organic elderberry syrup or part elderberry syrup and part tart cherry / black cherry / grape juice as they are high in vitamin C and anti-viral, anti-inflammatory Gummies: 1 and 1/2 cup elderberry syrup (or half juice and half elderberry syrup) 4 tbsp gelatin 2 tsp raw honey (omit if using 1/2 juice and 1/2 elderberry syrup) Optional to add 1 tsp lemon juice for a more tart gummy and leave out the raw honey. Heat ½ cup of juice/syrup until boiling. When it has boiled, In a separate bowl combine gelatin and heated juice stirring briskly until gelatin is dissoved. Then pour in remainder of juice/syrup and whisk until completely combined. **you can also add 1-2 tbsp of vitamin C powder at this point as well and stir in briskly** Pour into gummy molds and let set in fridge for at least one hour. We generally store our gummies in the fridge but I know of others who store in a cool place in their kitchen outside of the fridge for up to two weeks. Enjoy!!
