Welcome back into my world Ginger Beef!!!

Oh Ginger Beef how I missed you throughout the past years with being gluten free!! No longer am I faced with that sadness as we developed a recipe for making our own.

In our Simply Thriving home, not only are we gluten free but we some of us have various food allergies and intolerances such as corn, eggs, dairy, sugar and more. That has made life challenging and an adventure. It means we do not eat out, like ever, as there just seem to be too many food hurdles to overcome in a restaurant. So, instead of looking at that as a complete bummer it has become an adventure of developing recipes for all of the foods we miss that will accommodate our food needs.

Hence, Ginger Beef!!! We created this recipe to be paleo (grain free made with our Paleo Flour Blend), refined sugar free (using organic coconut sugar or local raw honey), and soy free (using organic coconut aminos). Deliciousness at its best.

Sticky Paleo Grain Free Gluten Free Ginger Beef

(For the beef, we use whatever cut of beef is on sale, with feeding a family of 6 and being gluten free on sale is important lol. You will be cutting your beef thinly so if it is a tougher cut of beef you will not notice)

Cut 1-1.5 pounds of roast or steak into thin strips

When cut set aside.

Place 1 cup of Simply Thriving Crispy Dredge Mix (soon to be available!!!! This mix is grain free, gluten free, nut free, dairy free) into a bowl or ziplock bag that will be large enough for your beef strips. Place beef strips into bowl or bag and coat all the meat well. Allow to rest for 15 minutes.

While meat is resting--

For your Sticky Ginger Sauce place all ingredients in wok or deep frying pan:

1 finely diced onion

Saute your onion in 1 tbsp of oil until lightly brown.


1/4 tsp of ginger (powdered) or 3/4 tbsp of fresh ginger finely grated

1 tbsp garlic powder or 2 crushed cloves of fresh garlick

2 tbsp of vinegar

1/2 cup coconut aminos (or gluten free soy sauce)

1 tsp sesame oil (optional if it is an allergy)

1/2 cup of organic coconut sugar or honey or brown sugar

pinch of pepper

1/2 tsp of red pepper flakes (if you do not have any on hand we have used 1/2 tsp paprika and 1/2 tsp of chili powder in place of it)

1 tbsp olive oil

Cook over medium heat until light rolling boil, gently stirring so that it does not burn or stick to the bottom. When it is at a light rolling boil, lower heat to medium low and allow to thicken slightly. When it thickens slightly, turn off the heat and proceed to cook your beef.

To cook your beef:

Heat your oil in an electric frying pan at about 1.5-2 inches depth until it reaches 375 degrees (alternately if you have a deep fryer, heat your oil until 375 degrees). Carefully and gently place your beef strips in heated oil, do not over crowd your pan. You will need to cook your meat in batches. Allow to cook fully on one side before flipping (it will take about 2 minutes per side). when meat is crispy, remove to cooling rack that is lined with paper towel. Continue process until all meat is cooked. When all meat is cooked, bring your sauce back up to temperature, place your meat in the sauce, coat the meat well in sauce, sprinkle with green onions (optional) and enjoy! Best served with rice. #simplythriving
